吴宓的名字曾经久矣夫为滚滚红尘所遮蔽。这位在30年代就已列名《大英百科全书》的中国学人,却在1949年后大陆出版的各类人名辞典中销声匿迹,甚至边80年代出版的多种大部头人名辞书(例如《中国近现代名人大辞典》、《中国当代名人录》、《中国文学家辞典(现代)》等)也找不到他。悲哉吴宓!想当年一段“柏拉图之恋”就使“三洲人士共惊闻”的清华园藤影荷声馆主,何以沉落如此?
Wu Mi’s name has been a long time shelter for the rolling red dust. The Chinese scholar, who was listed as the Encyclopedia of Britannica in the 1930s, disappeared in various dictionaries published in mainland China after 1949.
