The Jiangxi Provincial Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Institute dispatched prevention and control personnel in November 1964 and went deep into the Maiyuan Commune of Xinjian County. Under the leadership of local party committees and health administrative departments, they collaborated with grass-roots medical personnel to mobilize people to carry out four rural flood prevention work. In the past month, epidemiological investigations, treatment of patients and management of patients, establishment of primary health care networks, and prevention and treatment of common diseases have been carried out according to plans, and initial successes have been achieved. Based on epidemiological investigations (including chest radiographs, tuberculin tests, etc.), patients were found and treated on the spot.
