I. Positive Changes in the Overall Investment Situation In the first half of 2004, the total investment in urban fixed assets in our country was 2.1844 trillion yuan, an increase of 31% over the same period of last year, a deceleration of 3.7 percentage points from that in the first five months. The growth rate of various types of investment funds dropped more obviously. Compared with January-May, the accumulated growth of domestic loans, foreign direct investment and self-raised funds in the first half of the year dropped by 7.2, 1.3 and 7.6 respectively.
