随着过去半年来科学家在纳米研究领域接连取得一连串实质性的突破,一个纳米电子时代可望提前到来。这是科学家们在近日闭幕的美国科学促进协会波士顿年会上所做的最新预测。出席美国科学促进协会波土顿年会纳米电子技术专题讨论会的专家们欣喜地宣布,用比现有硅芯片集成度高上万倍的纳米元件,在分子水平上制造更小、更快、更轻的计算机很可能在不久的将来成为现实。目前已有不少纳米电子研究成果接近工业化生产阶段。该领域的研究开发进度,可能已经比原先预想的“提前了5到6年”。专家们预测说,快的话也许只要再过5到10年,纳米电子技术就会改变计算机业的发展走向。
With the series of substantive breakthroughs scientists have made in the field of nanotechnology in the past six months, an era of nanoelectronics is expected to come ahead of schedule. This is the latest prediction scientists have made at the recently concluded annual meeting of the AAAS in Boston. Attendees at the American Association for the Advancement of Science experts at the Pontiant Convention Nanoelectronics Symposium are delighted to announce the use of nano-devices that are 10,000 times more integrated than current silicon chips to make smaller, faster, Lighter computers are likely to become a reality in the near future. At present, many nanoelectronics research results are close to the industrialized production stage. The progress of research and development in this area may have been “5 to 6 years earlier than originally expected.” Experts predict that fast, perhaps as long as 5 to 10 years later, nanoelectronics will change the direction of the computer industry.
