In order to develop the steel slag road construction, the Science and Technology Bureau of the Ministry of Communications formally issued the “Research on the Use of Steel Slag for Pavement Construction” in August 1983 and was chaired by Chongqing Highway Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Communications. Chongqing Jiaotong University, Chongqing Iron and Steel Company, Conservation Section, Chongqing Chuanqian Highway Reconstruction Agency, Guangdong Provincial Institute of Transportation Science, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province Highway Bureau, Sichuan Province Jinyang Highway Maintenance segment to participate. The subject of experimental research work ended in December 1985.
