盐,是生命不可缺少的补充品,同时也是国计民生的重要物资。回顾历史,有人为了食盐揭竿而起闹革命。也有人为了食盐而不惜拿生命作代价,留下了一起又一起今人痛苦的回忆。 在襄樊的历史上,就曾发生过一起因抢购食盐而导致死伤数十人的惨案,遇难者横尸街头.惨不忍睹。惨案发生在民国36年(1947年)2月17日上午。地点在原鄂北盐务处门前(现襄樊市樊东区苏家巷内)。 据历史档案记载,民国35年11月以前,鄂北盐务处准许商人自由买卖食盐,故百姓尚不为购盐
