1949年,全省共有普通中学345所,在校学生9.31万人;小学18451所,在校学生135.3万人;幼儿园(所)392个,在园儿童2.47万人;特殊教育学校8所,在校生316人。当时全省人口3512万,每万人中在校学生数仅为中学生26.5人、小学生358人。小学学龄儿童入学率21.5％。
In 1949, the province had a total of 345 ordinary secondary schools, with 93,100 students; 18,451 primary schools; 1,353,000 students; 392 kindergartens, 24.7 million children in the park; and 8 special education schools. There are 316 students. At that time, the population of the province was 35.12 million. The number of students per 10,000 students was only 26.5 middle school students and 358 primary school students. The enrollment rate of primary school-age children is 21.5%.
