9月3日~25日,澳大利亚国防军(ADF)7000人与美军3000人举行了代号为“鳄鱼2003”的大型联合军事演习(Exercise Crocodile 2003,CROC 03)。此次演习的地点设在澳大利亚昆士兰地区的中部和北部,重点演练区域包括陶斯维尔、格兰斯通、洛克汉普敦和浅水湾训练场及珊瑚海海上训练场。此次军演的目的是训练澳美两军组织和实施由澳方指挥、美军提供支援的联合军事行动能力。 演习假想在澳军领导下,澳美联军向一个名为“菜吉斯”(Legais)岛国的海岸投送兵力。具体演练课目包括海空协同、港口封锁、武器禁运、两栖登陆以及特种作战等。此次演习的总指挥是澳军第1师师长马克·埃文斯少将。演习指挥部采用了一套陆基可移动式联合指挥部系统。美国海军陆战队第3远征部队的联合参谋人员、特种部队成员和海空军人员作为增援人员加强该指挥系统。
From September 3 to 25, 7000 Australian Defense Force (ADF) and 3,000 U.S. military personnel held a joint exercise called Crocodile 2003 (CROC 03). The drill site is located in the central and northern Queensland region of Australia, focusing on areas including Taoswil, Glaston, Lockhampton and Repulse Bay Training Ground and the Coral Sea Sea Training Ground. The purpose of this military exercise is to train the Australian and U.S. armed forces to organize and implement joint military operations supported by the Australian side and the U.S. military. Exercises It is assumed that under the leadership of the Australian troops, the Australian, U.S.A forces send troops to the coast of an island called Legais. Specific exercises include sea and air cooperation, port blockade, arms embargo, amphibious landing and special operations. The commander of this exercise is the 1st Australian Division Major General Mark Evans. The exercise command uses a land-based mobile joint command system.
