In William Faulkner’s short story The Rose for Emily, Emilion is an isolated man who insists on his own way of living despite the reality. She is proud and noble, full of relentless vengeance on the revenge. Combining the historical facts of the reconstruction of the South in the United States after the American Civil War, Emily was the victim of that particular era, the image of a marginalized alienated person, and she was still a prisoner living in the past.
