一、概论MPEG-4是 ISO/IEC 的 HPEG 小组继成功地推出MPEG-1和 MPEG-2之后最新推出的新一代压缩编码标准。第一版己于1999年1月正式成为国际标准,第二版于2000年上半年通过成为国际标准。MPEG-4是一种全新的、基于内容的压缩编码方法,为进一步提高压缩编码效率和未来的多媒体应用提供了一系列标准化的方法和工具。MPEG-4建立在以下三个领域的基础上;1.数字电视;2.交互式图形应用;3.交互式多媒体;
I. INTRODUCTION MPEG-4 is a new generation of compression encoding standard newly released by HPEG team of ISO / IEC after the successful introduction of MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. The first edition was officially adopted as an international standard in January 1999 and the second edition passed an international standard in the first half of 2000. MPEG-4 is a new, content-based compression coding method that provides a series of standardized methods and tools for further improving the efficiency of compression coding and future multimedia applications. MPEG-4 is based on the following three areas: 1. Digital television; 2. Interactive graphics applications; 3. Interactive multimedia;
