Administration of opioid peptide to normal subjects resulted in facial redness, whereas transfusion of the opioid receptor antagonist Naloxone reduced subjective feelings of facial flushing and LH pulse frequency. As LH pulse and the emergence of fever is closely related in time, the above data indicate that endogenous opioids may be related to the boom of the heat. The LH pulse appears during the sensation of fever: The relevant factors that stimulate the secretion of LH may play a role in the mechanism of the sensation of fever. Studies on normal postmenopausal women show that endogenous opioids inhibit LH secretion. Due to the apparent self-contradictory results of the above experiment, the authors again examined the effect of postmenopausal women
