Psypher, a cryptographic plug-in made by MBSCon (?) Company of America, is a common software system for data encryption. It can be used extensively in microcomputers and mainframe computers. The system transforms the file into an unintelligible random bit pattern or a sequence of random characters, without any change in the file itself. The system’s input can be almost any type of file: binary or character-encoded, record length fixed or variable. The binary processing device converts the file to a random bit sequence, and the character processing device turns the file into a randomly printable character form.
