In 2002, Hercynian regional GDP exceeded 70 billion yuan, the highest increase in the province’s first place, an increase of 16.1% over the previous year. Among them, the primary industry was 348 million yuan, up 5.5%; the secondary industry 4.575 billion yuan, up 16.4%; and the tertiary industry 2.077 billion yuan, up 17.5%. In GDP, primary, secondary and tertiary industries accounted for 4.97%, 65.36% and 29.67% respectively.
