建设社会主义核心价值体是当前增强社会主义意识形态的吸引力和凝聚力的重大命题和战略任务。毛泽东诗词蕴含着社会主义核心价值体系初步建立时期的丰富内容和精神内涵。它不仅艺术地蕴含了马克思主义理论的精髓,而且体现着以毛泽东为代表的老一辈革命家对社会主义共同理想的坚定信念,也突出彰显了特定历史时期以爱国主义为核心的民族精神和以改革创新为核心的时代精神,并且把传统美德为基础的社会主义荣辱观化为革命的自觉要求和具体实践。在今天的社会主义核心价值体系建立过程中,毛泽东为代表的老一辈革命家的诗词作品,应该成为不可或缺的精神食粮和教育载体。
