Founded in 1984 by the State Development Planning Commission authorized by the Yunnan Provincial Government, Silan Highway was the first three-level provincial highways contracted by the local government of our province. From the exit of the Kunlun Highway to the south of Simao City in the east, Lancang County, south and Buddha double road intersection, a total length of 172.547 kilometers, started construction in September 1984, opened to traffic in December 1986. The construction of Silan Highway has produced significant social and economic benefits, shortening the mileage of Simao to Lancang by 162 kilometers from the original Xishuangbanna. It directly connects the three border ethnic autonomous counties of Lancang, Menglian and Ximeng for the political stability of the border areas, National unity and economic development, played an important New Zealand
