CDC’s SARS Epidemiological Surveillance case definitions have been updated to include laboratory criteria for the detection of SARS-CoV (SARS-CoV) infection. In addition, clinical criteria have been revised to reflect as much SARS-CoV-related respiratory disease as possible. Epidemiological standards remain unchanged. Most cases of SARS in the United States continue to be tourism-related and limited to family members and medical staff
