四年前,当我结束了40多天的法国世界杯采访离开巴黎前,我在最后一篇稿子中写到:这是一届很不精彩的世界杯,它离想象中最美的足球差距太大了。“说这届世界杯最好的是组织者,因为这是他们办的,他们不可能说自己办得世界杯不好;说挺好的是一些足球圈的人,因为世界杯永远比他们踢得好,他们不敢说世界杯踢得不好;说不好的是一些不懂足球的人,他们可以站着说话不腰疼,但他们对足球寄托着美好的想象,所以他们就像说出皇帝的新衣那样‘单纯、幼稚’地批评世界杯不好。”这就是我当时说法国世界杯不好的理由。四年后,我又亲临了韩日赛场,对足球始终寄托着天真美好的想象。但回首韩日世界杯,我要说的是,这一届世界杯还不如四年前的法国世界杯,世界杯越来越不好看了。

But looking back at the Korea-Japan World Cup, what I would like to say is that this session of the World Cup is not as good as the French World Cup four years ago. The World Cup is getting less and less attractive.
