1971年10月25日在纽约的联合国大会通过恢复中国的合法席位的时候,北京钓鱼台的中美秘密会谈临近结束了。这是基辛格第二次访华期间与周恩来进行的第10次会谈,也是最后一次会谈。基辛格预定在第10次会谈结束后就乘“空军一号”专机回国。北京时间10月26日早晨天亮的时候,会谈已经进行一半了。有一个中方工作人员接过新华社送来的一份特急报告,悄然走进小厅,将报告递给周恩来。这是一页折起来的纸,上面只写了一句话:刚才,联大以赞成票76、反对票35、弃权票17,通过了我们进入联合国并驱逐蒋帮代表,详情后报。
When the United Nations General Assembly in New York passed the restoration of the legitimate seat of China on October 25, 1971, the Sino-U.S. Secret talks in Diaoyutai in Beijing are nearing completion.
