《论语》因其成书和流传的复杂性,带来理解所需要的要素的缺失而引起歧义。《论语·公冶长第五》“子曰道不行”一段中,断句、词语训诂和整句解释都有数种说法,然而都存在不同程度的缺陷,无法合理解释对话的原意。掌握更多的史料进行综合考察,能够对文本有更加深刻的理解。在分析话语发生的时间、话语接受者子路以及话语的特定语言环境后,赞同新的理解思路:夫子引子路为同道,子路喜,夫子接着赞扬子路的勇、义、才。同时,继续从语法等角度论证新思路。
The Analects of Confucius is ambiguous because of the complexity of its production and circulation, resulting in the absence of the necessary elements for understanding.
