Every morning at 9 am, Wang Chengqiang, who lives in the Shijingshan District Model Area, will come to the nearby park to lead the old people to play Taiping drum. Up to now, they have persisted for more than 20 years. Wang Chengqiang, who has been affected by his grandmother since the age of 5, started to touch the Taiping Drum. From his own hands, he made all the trumpets of Taiping Drum to various kinds of playing drums. He was familiar with and kept innovating on the basis of retaining traditional techniques. In 2014, he was appraised as the district-level representative successor of Shijingshan Taiping Drum, a national-level intangible cultural heritage project in Shijingshan District.
