在中国,脑卒中是导致死亡的第一位原因,在这个占世界人口1/5的国家,大约就有700万脑卒中患者。据最近的流行病学统计,中国每年有新发脑卒中患者200万例,且每年因脑卒中而导致的死亡人数达100万。然而相对于如此大的脑卒中人群而言,目前我国在脑卒中预防方面还比较滞后。据不完全统计,国内每年所开展的颈动脉内膜剥脱术不足200例。而在美国,颈动脉内膜剥脱术已经成为最普通的血管外科手术。
Stroke is the number one cause of death in China, with about 7 million stroke victims in about one-fifth of the world’s population. According to recent epidemiological statistics, there are 2 million new cases of stroke each year in China and the number of deaths caused by stroke each year reaches 1 million. However, relative to such a large stroke population, at present, our country is still lagging behind in stroke prevention. According to incomplete statistics, carotid endarterectomy is performed in less than 200 cases every year in China. In the United States, carotid endarterectomy has become the most common vascular surgery.
