苏轼,字子瞻,一字和仲,号东坡居士。生于公元1037年(宋仁宗景祐四年),卒于公元1101年(宋徽宗建中靖国元年),眉州眉山人,他是北宋著名的文学家和书法家,其散文和诗词艺术成就很高,在中国文学史上占有重要地位。苏轼1056年(宋仁宗嘉祐元年)举进士。1071年(宋神宗熙宁四年)出任杭州通判,后转知密州、徐州、湖州。1079年宋神宗元丰二年),因“乌台诗案”被捕下狱,出狱后贬为黄州团练副使。哲宗即位后,苏轼一度在朝任翰林学士。不久又出知杭州、颍州和定州。晚年又被贬官到南方的惠州和儋州。在北返途中,于1101年病死在常州,终年66岁。苏轼一生在政治上颇不得志,曾饱经忧患,
