戏剧艺术的感染力是无限的,关汉卿的年代距今久远,而他的大部分作品却超越了时空的阻隔,依旧还被翻改传唱于今日的舞台上。《窦娥冤》通过传奇《金锁记》演为京剧《六月雪》,《拜月亭》直接影响了《幽闺记》,《绯衣梦》和南戏《林招得》也有间接渊源,如今仍演出的《卖水》、《火焰驹》和《血手印》都可以《绯》为源头远祖;《望江亭》、《救风尘》仍不断有改本献演,甚至原本不完整的《诈妮子》都成了当代戏剧工作者灵感的泉源,脍炙人口的《燕燕》一剧仍可视为以关汉卿原作为底的新编本。关汉卿的重要性不仅限于学术界,对于现代的观众而言,关汉卿这三个字依旧是耳熟能详的。在这么多传唱不歇的剧本中,和原作面貌最相近、剧本变动幅度最小的,应该就属《单刀会》了。当关汉卿以诗化的语言歌颂了一段英雄豪情之后,往后的剧作者似乎很难再做什
