In the past decade, advances in the applications of physical metallography in geology, especially in structural geology, have been made. Initially this method had a great deal of information on the experimental deformations of minerals used, but most of them had been used up and therefore their further development depended more on material science. Estimating ancient stress based on microstructural features is an area where geologists rely heavily on metallographic data. This article will briefly comment on the literature on metallography and on the various points of view on this subject. Will be discussed later in the attempt
