不论是隋性的宫内节育器还是具有活性的带铜宫内节育器,真正避孕作用尚未完全了解,有人认为带铜宫内节育器避孕效果较好的原因可能与某些机制有关:(1)铜与子宫内膜某些活性酶(carbonic anhydrase脱氢碳酸酶)的相互作用;(2)铜促进宫内膜白细胞增生;(3)胸腺嘧啶合成减少,雌激素结合力下降或醣原代谢减弱;(4)铜直接对精子的活动及活力的损害。过去已对此进行了长时间的研究,但一般研究方法不够准确,不能达到科研的要求。最近采用多次曝光摄影法(MEP,multiple-exposure photography method),可客观且非常精确地分析铜对精子的活动力及成活率的影响,有助于总结带铜宫内节育器的抗精子作用机制。为此目的,收集了42个正常精液标本,每标本内加入生理盐水使总量为6 ml,混匀后分成两管,一管为试验管,加入带铜IUD250或375,另一管作对照。42个标本又各分为3组,第一组试验管
