The mechanism of lipid peroxidation induced by cadmium-induced liver injury and the antagonistic mechanism of zinc and selenium alone and simultaneously on the hepatotoxicity induced by cadmium were explored. The results showed that malondialdehyde (MDA) content, total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and liver tissue The content of three elements of zinc, selenium and cadmium were significantly different from that of the control group (P <0.05), while those of the cadmium-zinc group, the cadmium-selenium group and the cadmium zinc-selenium group were all significantly different from that of the control group P <0.05). The contents of zinc, selenium and cadmium in liver tissue were positively correlated with T-SOD activity, GSH-Px activity and MDA content (r1 = 0.894, P <0.05; r2 = 0.784, P <0.05; r3 = 0.832, P <0.05), suggesting that zinc and selenium have an antagonistic effect on liver lipid peroxidation caused by cadmium.
