在第一讲中谈到自动调节系统一般由对象、测量元件、变送器、调节器、调节阀等组成。这里谈到的对象是指被调节的具体设备或机器。在化工生产过程中,常常会发现有的对象人工容易操作,自动调节也比较稳定,有的对象则不然,只要稍不小心,参数就会越出规定范围,甚至造成生产事故。例如,同样是液面控制,为保证一定的波动范围(±△h),则矮胖的贮槽比瘦长的似乎容易些。
