The Wood Resource Quarterly has released results for the global forest sector for the first quarter of 2013. Sawn lumber prices rose almost everywhere in all regions covered by the WRQ quarter Q1 2013, but are still generally below the 1Q12. The biggest gains over the previous quarter were in the western United States, Latvia, Finland and Sweden. The global Sawlog Price Index (GSPI) rose 2.4% from the fourth quarter of 2012 to $ 86.33 / m³, the largest quarterly increase since the beginning of 2011.
