Objective To investigate the effects of different modes of delivery on the health status of mothers and infants. Methods A prospective study was conducted to follow-up the status of maternal and neonatal births and postpartum during follow-up from March 2007 to March 2009 in our hospital. Results The incidence of postpartum depression and complications in the cesarean section group was significantly lower than that in the cesarean section group, P <0.05; and the incidence of neonatal bilirubin index and Apgar score ≤7 points in the cesarean section group was also low In the cesarean section group, P <0.05. Conclusion The effect of cesarean section on maternal and infant health status is more obvious than that of the cesarean section. Doctors and pregnant women should choose the mode of delivery cautiously to reduce the unnecessary impact.
