一中國猿人化石的發現 (一)中國猿人發現在什麽地方? 中國猿人發現在河北省房山縣周口店,距北京西南五十四公里,距房山縣城之西四公里。周口店位於西山南端山脚下,西北兩面群山環繞,南面爲廣大的河北平原。在周口店村西約二里許有一座低而圓的小山,山高距現在的河面只有七十五公尺。山的南面因開採灰石已開去了一半,北面有填滿土石的一个大洞穴。這個洞穴就是所謂‘猿人洞’,中國猿人化石及其文化遺跡都發現在這個洞穴裏。因為在這座山洞裏出產許多大小不同的脊椎動物的化石,這種化石國藥名為‘龍骨’,所以這座小山俗名叫作‘龍骨山’。這

Chinese ape people found in Zhoukoudian in Fangshan County, Hebei Province, 54 kilometers southwest of Beijing, four kilometers west of Fangshan County. Zhoukoudian is located at the foot of Xishan Mountain, surrounded by mountains on both sides of the northwest and vast plains of Hebei in the south. Because in this cave produces many fossils of vertebrates of different sizes, this fossil kingdom is called ’keel’, so this hill name is called ’keel mountain’. This
