APPLE与汽车业者BMW(宝马)合作推出了 iPOD接入器,能在BMW顶级车系中,安装上iPOD。并且实现让BMW的车主,在双手无须离开方向盘的状态下,也能操控iPOD,通过汽车音响收听下载至 iPOD的数字音乐。iPOD将安置在仪表板上的制物箱 (glove box),透过特殊的连结器,连接至汽车的音响系统。车主不但可以在车上聆听iPOD,还可以在汽车上替iPOD充电。对应此功能的为第3代以后的 iPOD及iPOD mini。能应用在BMW之X3、X5、Z4 以及3系列及01年12月以后生产的MINI车系中, 其中部分车型的方向盘具备内建的音响控制装置,这项内建的控制功能,可以通过次连接器延伸控制 iPOD上的功能。车主能通过控制装置操作iPOD上的播放／暂停／音量／播放模式等功能。若是该BMW 车系并未内建方向盘控制装置,车主则需透过汽车之音响设备控制iPOD。
APPLE partnered with automaker BMW BMW to launch the iPOD accessor, which enables iPOD to be installed in the BMW’s top-of-the line car. And to enable owners of BMWs to control iPOD without having to leave their steering wheel with their hands, and listen to digital music downloaded to iPOD through the car’s stereo. The iPOD will be placed in the dashboard glove box and connected to the car’s audio system via a special connector. The owner not only can listen to iPOD in the car, but also can charge iPOD in the car. Corresponding to this feature for the third generation after the iPOD and iPOD mini. Can be used in BMW’s X3, X5, Z4 and 3 series and after December 01 MINI car production, some of the steering wheel with built-in audio control device, the built-in control functions, Connector extension controls the features on the iPOD. The owner can operate functions such as play / pause / volume / play mode on the iPOD through the control device. If the BMW car is not built-in steering wheel control device, the owner needs to control the iPOD through the car’s audio equipment.
