The economic and trade complementarity between China and Russia is clear. Both sides need to seize the favorable opportunity to enhance the level and function of economic and trade cooperation. Since the formal establishment of the 156th member state of the World Trade Organization in August last year, the Russian market has formally become integrated with the world economy, injecting new growth momentum into global trade and ushering in a rare opportunity for development in bilateral trade. In March this year, President Xi Jinping of China paid a successful visit to Russia. The two countries have deepened their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and further enhanced the scale and quality of their trade and economic cooperation.
