In a sense, the paintings of China on urban themes have appeared in the Northern Song Dynasty, such as the “Riverside Scene of Qingming Festival.” However, with modern urban civilization highly developed, the painting based on urban life does not seem to have drawn the attention of artists for a long time, though it is a great field in the period when it emphasizes the transition of Chinese painting to the modern era . In the 20th century, when people engaged in artistic creation or writing, the city became an unintentional or intentional subject to be avoided. Contemporary literary critic Lee Jing-Zeh for modern literary awards in a novel all the novella Prize fell on the issue of rural novels, commented: “Our literary concept, we imagine and show the world’s vision, we apply the concepts and procedures are In the face of a failure of urban experience, we are unconscious about it. ”In the field of Chinese painting, the lag in urban themes is closely linked with the artist’s lack of active attention to the process of urbanization in China.
