我国的经济实力到底处在一个什么水平上?这是近年来国际国内一直非常关注的问题。 1989年来东欧剧变,特别是1991年8月苏联解体之后,一些西方预言家曾断言,中国经济犹如“多米诺骨牌”行将崩溃。然而,这一预言没有变为现实。相反,中国经济在经历了短暂的“阵痛”之后,稳住了阵脚,进入了加快发展的新阶段,1992年中国经济增长达12.8％,超过亚洲“四小龙”的平均增长水平。
What is the level of China’s economic strength? This is a problem that has drawn great attention both at home and abroad in recent years. After the drastic changes in Eastern Europe in 1989 and especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union in August 1991, some Western prophets had asserted that the Chinese economy was going to collapse like a domino. However, this prophecy has not become a reality. On the contrary, after experiencing a brief “throes”, the Chinese economy has stalled and entered a new phase of accelerating development. In 1992, China’s economic growth reached 12.8%, surpassing the average growth rate of “four small dragons” in Asia.
