The catalysis by a series of partially substituted CaTiO_3 and LaAlO_2 perovskites for theoxidative coupling of methane has been studied with the aid of a fixed bed reactor. The activity ofCaTiO_3 and LaAlO_3 perovskites could be improved if certain cations were substituted on the A and/or Bsites. The substitution on the B sites was more effective.A C_z-yield of 17% was achieved at 1073 Kwith a molar ratio of CH_4:O_2,=2.5:1 over a Ca_(0.9)Sr_(0.1)TiO_2 catalyst with good stability.
