~(252)Cf is considered as a so-called radionuclide generator which has a spontaneous fission(SF)branch of 3.11% and a half-life of 2.645 a.The asymmetric fission of ~(252)Cf leads to two peaks in the mass distri- bution ranging from A= 95~120 and A=130~155,respectively,corresponding to neutron-rich isotopes of elements in the regions of strontium(Sr)to palladium(Pd)and tin(Sn)to neodymium(Nd).In order to prepare the model experiment for the chemistry of transactinides and test On-Line Gas chemistry Appa- ratus(OLGA)with the isotopes of group-4 and group-5 of the periodic table,the required niobium(Nb)
