With the development of China’s economy, the process of urbanization speeds up. The city has expanded in size, the urban population has exploded and the urban architecture has been soaring. All this seems to be telling the sculptor that you, some of the first to get rich in the Chinese art world, have the opportunity to move from well-to-do to well-being and even to well-off society. As the official performance of municipal officials, urban sculpture has become a new hot spot after a series of construction climaxes on roads, squares and pavilions. It is said that Shanghai is making a plan to build 10,000 (at least 5,000) urban sculptures. If it is lucky enough to be a reality, it is probably the most bold Great Leap Forward in the history of the city. This reminds me of a rhetoric that once made the world ashamed, “How bold and how productive are people” is to apply it: “How audacious the leaders are and how many sculptures are there in the city.” - China’s business, It’s fun again in decades!
