托尼·莫里森是美国黑人文学的领军人物。她的小说集中描写了黑人民族在美国历史变迁中的生存困境,讲述他们痛苦的身份追寻历程。黑人文化传统是莫里森小说创作的源泉,白人文化为她的文学创作注入活力。本文以多元文化作为视角切入点,从无法割裂的黑人文化传统、多元文化语境下黑人的处境、文化冲突下自我身份的追寻三个方面展开论述,探讨莫里森小说的艺术特色,进而指出在多元文化的背景下黑人群体的出路。
Tony Morrison is a leading figure in Afro-American literature. Her novel concentrates on the survival predicament of the black nation in the historical changes of the United States and tells the story of their painful pursuit of identity. Black cultural tradition is the source of Morrison’s novel creation, and the white culture infuses her literary creation. This article takes multiculturalism as the starting point, explores the artistic features of Morrison’s novels from three aspects: the black cultural tradition that can not be separated, the situation of blacks in multicultural context and the pursuit of self-identity under cultural conflicts. Black people’s way out in a multicultural context.
