京郊的大蒜历来是春种,由于春季气温低、生长期短、易受病虫危害,死苗常在20—30%。产量低,平均亩产鲜蒜仅1,500斤左右,蒜薹100—200斤。每年需从外地词进800—900万斤蒜供应市场。从1974 年起,我们学习山东的经验,试验大蒜秋种。几年来,秋种大蒜面积已发展到8,500亩,占全市大蒜种植面积的96.9%。总产2,728.5万斤,平均亩产鲜蒜3,200多斤,蒜薹620斤左右。总产值560多万元。与春播大蒜相比,亩产鲜蒜增加一倍以上,蒜薹增加420斤左
