关联理论是关于理解自然语言的一种语言理论,而翻译研究最终要解决的是扫除跨文化交际中的语言障碍。关联理论作为一种语用交际理论,必然给翻译研究带来许多启示。本文试图从关联理论的交际观入手,在分析探讨其重要核心概念的基础上,阐释其对传统翻译“对等论”二元结构论的启示以及翻译文体论研究的解释力。
Relevance theory is a linguistic theory of understanding natural language, and the ultimate goal of translation studies is to eliminate the language barriers in cross-cultural communication. Relevance theory, as a theory of pragmatic communication, inevitably brings much inspiration to translation studies. Based on the analysis of its important core concepts, this essay tries to explain its enlightenment on the dualistic structure theory of traditional translation and “equivalence theory” as well as the explanatory power of the translation style theory.
