春季是冬小麦发育过程中最重要的时期,它不仅要恢得生产、形成新的根和茎,而且幼穗和花器亦开始分化和发育。加强这一时期的田间管理,特别是加强水分和养料的供应乃是提高产量的有效技术措施。冬小麦的追肥在秋季发育终了时,冬小麦细胞中的一部分水分便丧失了,同时增高了糖的含量。其所以如此,是因为幼苗在准备越冬的过程中,必须通过所谓硬化,以便提高自己的抗塞力。但是由于冬季呼吸作用的消耗,分蘖节内贮藏的糖分消耗很多,在植株返青后发生新的根和茎时便感到养料十分不足。大多数冬作物这时对氮需要最迫切。到分蘖和拔节期,即幼穗形成时,冬小麦对养料的需要最大。在这种情况下,必须进行追肥。
