Objective: To investigate the effect of chronic long-term exercise on Th1 / Th2 balance in peripheral blood of SD rats. Methods: Thirty-six rats were randomly divided into four groups: light exercise group, moderate exercise group, heavy exercise group and control group. The swimming group was trained in swimming for 12 weeks, and the blood was collected 24 hours after the last swimming. The levels of serum IL-4 and IFN-γ were measured and the levels of IFN-γ / IL-4 ratio. Results: Compared with the control group, the levels of IFN-γ and IFN-γ / IL-4 in the heavy load exercise group were significantly decreased (P <0.05). The contents of IFN-γ and IL- The ratio of IFN-γ / IL-4 showed no significant change. CONCLUSION: Moderate and light exercise is beneficial to maintaining Th1 / Th2 balance. Heavy exercise may affect Th1 / Th2 balance and immune function from Th1 to Th2.
