1984年7月29日至8月3日,在英国Bristol召开了国际纯粹与应用生物物理联合会(IntenationalUnion of Pure and Applied Biophysics,简称为IUPAB)第八届大会。我国自从1982年正式加入这个联合会以来,在中国科协的组织下,第一次派出了包括科学院和高等学校在内的统一的16人代表团。笔者作为代表团一员参加了这次会议,现将活动情况和自己的观感报道如下。IUPAB是参加国际科学联合会(简称ICSU)的20个学会之一,每三年召开一次学术会议;并在会议期间举行参加成员国的代表会议,选出下一届理事会。目前,加入该联合会的成员国共35国。IUPAB设五个专业委员会,即“分子与亚细胞生物物理”、“生物膜与细胞生物物理”、“教育与发展”、“通讯与控制”、
From July 29 to August 3, 1984, the Eighth International Conference on Pure and Applied Biophysics (IUPAB) was held in Bristol, England. Since China formally joined the Federation in 1982, under the auspices of the China Association for Science and Technology, China has for the first time sent a unified 16-member delegation including the Academy of Sciences and higher education institutions. The author as a delegation to attend the meeting, now the activities and their feelings are reported as follows. IUPAB is one of 20 institutes participating in the International Union of Scientific Societies (ICSU), holding an academic conference every three years. During the meeting, IUPAB holds a meeting of deputies to member states to elect the next council. At present, the member countries joining the Federation a total of 35 countries. IUPAB has five professional committees, namely Molecular and Subcellular Biophysics, Biofilm and Cell Biophysics, Education and Development, Communication and Control,
