唐代长安佛寺诗美学风格呈现出恢宏雄壮、清俊秀丽、奇幻诡谲三种表现形式。恢宏雄壮在从初唐至盛唐的发展中不断完善,盛唐时期更为雄浑自然。清俊秀丽在盛唐王维笔下最富韵味,中晚唐诗人无人企及,中晚唐诗人在精细与滞涩中发展表现着这一美学风格。中唐诗人韩愈创作的佛寺诗则迥异于其他两种美学风格,呈现出独特的具有个性色彩的奇幻诡谲之美,这种风格在晚唐李洞手中得到发展,表现为雄奇开阔的特点。
