文房四宝砚为首,这是古人对砚的赞誉。早在唐元和年间,著名书法家柳公权就在《论研》中把广东肇庆的端砚、安徽歙砚、甘肃洮河砚、山西澄泥砚列为全国四大名砚。至今已有1300多年的历史。发展到今天,已逐渐将实用与艺术融为一体,而被广大书画爱好者们所珍爱。澄泥砚最早产于我国山西汾河附近的绛县(古时称绛州)和绎县(古时称绎州)一带。在《山西通志》、《绛州旧志》中均有记载。澄泥砚最早起源于隋末唐初,延续到宋元年间而后失传。所史料记载:在唐朝时期山西绛州所制的澄泥砚为最佳,被唐人所喜爱,到了宋朝,绎州吕道人所制的澄泥砚又被誉为上品,他所制的澄泥砚都在砚底刻
