First, the development characteristics of electronic information industry in Kunshan Development Zone Electronic information industry is the basic industry and pillar industries in Kunshan Development Zone. As of the end of 2005, more than 300 enterprises in the IT industry have settled in the district, with a total investment of more than 4 billion U.S. dollars. The majority of investors are Taiwan-funded enterprises, which have introduced a number of leading projects and basically formed the industrial clusters with the division of labor, the linkage of upstream and downstream industries and the complete set of supporting functions. 20
