在邓小平同志南巡重要讲话和党的十四大精神指引下,当前我国市场经济发展态势异常迅猛,有力地促进生产力的发展。这股大潮给长期以计划经济运行机制的农科院也带来了新的机遇和新的考验。它为我们铺垫了一条宽广的道路,同时也要求我们由完全依赖于国家拨款到基本经济自主,乃至全面自主。农科院要适应市场经济的客观需要,不断增强自我发展能力,这是急待解决的问题。

The tide of this stock has brought new opportunities and new tests to the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, which has long run its planned economy.
