In September 2005, IBM announced the launch of the IntelliStation M Pro6218, a graphics workstation designed with an IBM dual-core processor designed by the IBM server design team that has passed stringent validation tests on x-series servers. The IntelliStation M Pro6218 incorporates several new technologies including the Intel 64-bit dual-core Pentium D processor and up to 8Gb of memory up to twice the previous generation.
