The Royal Institute of General Practitioners in London supports the role of nurse practitioners in basic care, including opening certain prescriptions and adjusting doses. These physicians told the regulatory agency that last month they allowed the nurses working for family physicians to prescribe prescriptions for the scope of the project and used their opinion on adjusting the dose of pain medications.
