电磁光谱中有个区域以前一直未被人类所开发:该区域介于微波和红外线之间,其光波频率是以太赫(相当于百亿赫兹)为计量单位的。科学家将该区域的光线称为“T射线”, 它的开发将给众多的领域,如安全检查、医学和天文研究等带来巨大变革。其实,上世纪初人类就发现了T射线的存在。但当时人们还没有掌握相应的技术来有效地驾驭它,这种情况直到大约10年前才有所改观。现在,研究者已开发出了与之相关的技术手段。不久之后,T射线就将取代X 射线的地位。
A region of the electromagnetic spectrum has not previously been developed by humans: this region is between the microwave and infrared, and its light frequency is measured in terahertz (equivalent to ten billion hertz). Scientists called the light of this area “T-rays” and its development will bring about tremendous changes in many fields such as security inspection, medicine and astronomy research. In fact, humans discovered the existence of T rays in the early last century. But at that time people did not have the appropriate technology to control it effectively. This situation did not change until about 10 years ago. Now, researchers have developed related technical means. T-rays will soon replace the X-rays.
